Erica's Engagement Story

Erica finally gets the ring

  •
Boston and I start the night out...I knew in my heart this was the night he would propose. This was our last night in Mass before driving back home.
  •
WELL....He had 3 plans to make sure he didn't mess anything up! We already missed dinner at the top of the hub which overlooks Boston. So this was plan B.... a well known bridge in Boston Common (a public park in the city...it's beautiful).
  •
We get to the bridge, he's ready ...hand on the ring, Im taking pictures and all of sudden people start clapping. Another couple gets engaged just as Boston is about to drop to one knee. We then walked around on the frozen pond. I thought the whole thing was hilarious and knew for sure he was planning to propose then. I took a picture with the new bride to be...we didn't mention anything about us. He was active military so it made me proud it was them! Not sure if he just came from overseas...but to see their faces, it was worth the wait for me. She was glowing!
  •
Plan C...Horse and Carriage through Faneuil Hall area. This is the area where we first hung out and I knew there was something there. I haven't left his side since then.
  •
We then go to the actual Faneuil Hall building which is beautiful. Yep...its closed and they are mopping the floors. By this point, Boston feels defeated. Im still laughing bc it never fails...something crazy always happens.
  •
We go back to plan A....a restaurant 52 floors up overlooking Boston. It was beautiful. We get there...the kitchen is closed and its 25 dollars a person just to sit and eat bar food. OK...no problem...we sit.... and then Boston lost it. Which he never does.... The service was horrible and they completely burned his hamburger. I leave crying and the whole ride home was silent.

We took 3 days to drive home....so I was thinking...oh yea...he will do it along the way home! Nope never did! Did it happen at Rockefeller? NOPE...lol. (which this is my old office btw, its beautiful)
  •
    Didn't happen in DC....
  •
Not until New Years Eve! :)
  •
I was getting my nails done for New Years Eve...left the house in black sleep pants and messy hair. Boston called and said lets meet for lunch. That's not abnormal...I was thinking we were getting engaged at midnight.
  •
He gave me the address which was near Duke Gardens...and then I knew. I was freaking out because I thought...OMG I have on pajamas and Im about to get engaged. He said call when you arrive...I did and he said follow the balloons. I immediately started crying and of course taking pictures along the way! :) Have to get pictures!
  •
I followed several balloons that lead me to Boston standing on the bridge. We hugged and he dropped to one knee....shaking like crazy. He said he was cold....yeah right!!!

He picked this out himself and it's more than I could imagine. We both cried and celebrated with a toast. Which...Shout out to my favorite...Diamonds Direct Crabtree. That's where he got the ring from!
